Te Kaha Arena, Christchurch
Christchurch’s $683-million Te Kaha Stadium will seat 27,000 for sports and up to 37,000 for major concerts. Located centrally between Madras, Barbadoes, Hereford, and Tuam streets, the arena aims to energize the city, drive development, and reinforce Christchurch’s status as a hub for sports, culture, and tourism.
As the Lead Surveyors for the Te Kaha Arena construction, we have been involved in all aspects of the project from the initial pre-design topographical survey through to setout and asbuilts for the field of play.
Our scope of work included:
- Initial topographical survey of site and surrounding buildings including GPS / total station survey, UAV survey for aerial imagery and laser scan of surrounding buildings.
- Establishment and maintenance of survey control, gridlines and height benchmarks throughout construction.
- Settlement monitoring.
- Survey setout of piles and volumes calculations for groundworks.
- Pre Pour survey for gridlines, columns, edge boards and hold down bolts.
- Post Pour survey for gridlines, columns and slab conformance.
- As Built of structural items including hold down bolts and cast ins.
- Setout and asbuilt laser scan of steel frames.
- Laser scan asbuilt, assembly coordination and setout of roof structure.
- Laser scan asbuilt for fabrication of window frames.
